This was the busiest day we had so far in relation to our documentary film project. This was our first ever video shooting for this project. The time has finally come for us to conduct an interview at Caliraya Hydroelectric Power Plant. We were accompanied by Mariv's brother and his cousin. We pass through some towns of Rizal and Laguna, took pictures, and shot videos.
We stopped by as we saw a hydroelectric power plant thinking that it was the Caliraya Hydroelectric Power Plant. We presented to them our letter of request for the expert interview. But they said that we were not allowed to conduct an interview without a contact person. And addition to that, office hours is only from Monday to Friday. We asked if we could take pictures and videos but it was also not allowed unless approved by a higher authority. But this hydropower plant was not what we thought it was. That was actually the Kalayaan Pump Storage Power Plant in Kalayaan, Laguna.
Since we are already in a hydroelectric power plant, we approached the people there if we could have someone with knowledge about the power plant to have an interview with and take a video of him/her. But there was none. They just gave us a contact person with a great knowledge in this renewable energy. And then, they advised us to go at Caliraya Hydroelectric Power Plant, which is originally included in our shot list. We went there and found out that the office is closed since it's a saturday. We just stopped by the Caliraya Lake and took pictures and videos that can help us in the film production.
Mariv's brother suggested a power plant that we could go to for an interview. It was Kephilco Malaya Power Plant. We went straight to Pililla, Rizal and inquired at the said plant. Just like what the others have said: taking pictures and videos is not allowed, and office is only open from monday to friday. They also gave us a person concern for the environmental matters in this plant and she's Mrs. Fely Leon. We thought that this company would be a great help in our project so we decided to pass all the requirements needed for the interview and video shooting anytime soon.
After all of this, we decided to call it a day and go home. It was such a wrong timing. We should go on all of these places from monday to friday. But it was quite worth it, because we enjoyed our trip to Caliraya. Maybe on Christmas vacation, we could have our trip to it again. But by that time, we can conduct the interview and video shooting already.
Later that night, Mariv said that there's a big chance that we could have an interview and shooting in the Kephilco Malaya Power Plant, for he just had made a contact with a person who has an access in that power plant. Hopefully, this could help us have our expert interview and video shooting in a hydroelectric power plant as soon as possible.
